Private matches with an invite link
You can now set up your own match.
How it works
- Create. In the menu, choose Create private match and pick an arena. You get a short code and a link.
- Invite. Send the link. Friends who open it pick Blue, Red or Auto and join you. Up to eight a side, so a 5 v 5 between friends just works.
- Bots only if you want them. Private matches start without bots. Choose "Fill empty seats" when you create the match, or switch bots on later, if you want a fuller game.
- You are the host. Switch bots on or off, restart the match, make a new link (the old one stops working) or remove a player. If you leave, the player who has been there longest takes over.
- Change sides at any time with a short cooldown, though not right after you have been hit.
Private matches never show up in the public match list, and the code is never sent to analytics.
Also in this update
- Smoother frames. The floating dust in the arenas is gone. It cost frame time on every machine and added little.
- A lighter game. A new build toolchain makes the game's download about 15 % smaller.
