Parties, and weapons that feel like weapons
Two things in this update: playing public matches with friends, and a full pass over how the weapons look.
Parties
- One link, one team. In a public match, open the Invite panel and choose Invite friends to your party. Send the link; friends who open it land in your match, on your team.
- Kept together. If your team is full when a friend joins, the whole party moves to a match with room for all of you.
- Up to four. A party is as big as a team. The party list sits under your status card, and you can leave at any time.
- Drops are forgiven. If your connection drops, you have two minutes to come back to your place.
Weapon effects
- Smoke and fire. Rockets and flak leave smoke trails, explosions throw a fireball, sparks and debris, and the smoke hangs for a moment.
- Beams with body. The Ion Arc Rifle, railgun and link gun fire bright energy beams instead of thin lines.
- Light. Shots and explosions light up the walls around them.
- Heat. Explosions shimmer the air on Medium and High, and barrels glow after a long burst.
- Faster, not slower. The effects reuse their pieces instead of building new ones for every shot, so busy fights run smoother than before.
